Light Source - Luminous Fragments [detail]

This video is part of a body of work that is based on an ongoing interest in the rhythm and visual poetry of natural light. The seamlessly looping imagery used points to an idea of ‘deep time’, and whilst celebrating the beauty that can be found in a heightened awareness of the present moment, it also alludes to the brittle fragility of our constructed environments and social systems.
Created using image sequences photographed on the occasion of the winter solstice, this 2 channel video projection depicts coloured light and translucent paintings projecting a repeating cycle of silent stories into a meditative space.
